America's Cup Defender Sculpture

Defender Sculpture

14KY gold sculpture by Robert Eddy:

This One-Of-A-Kind America’s Cup Sculpture was created in the early 1980’s for a syndicate member in the early 1980’s. It is a replica of the yacht Defender. It is a small (but, a BIG) piece of America’s Cup history. Though it did not go on to win an America’s Cup event, it was part of the historic event where the NYYC lost the cup to Australia 11.

It is built in 14 Karat yellow gold and measures 2-3/4” long by 3-3/8” tall. It weighs just less than 2 oz. It has 9 sculpted individuals in position sailing the vessel. It sits on a marble pedestal on a 12” square green marble base with a gold engraved plaque and has a professionally created acrylic cover. more jewelry
