Grace B

The Grace B is a family boat used on Lake Vermillion in Northern Minnesota. This boat was built originally built as one of 36 such boats sold in 1955. The Grace B is a twin engine boat, a “semi-enclosed” 29’ Sportsman style Chris-Craft powered by twin 239 cubic inch 105 horsepower flathead 6 cylinder Model KL engines.

In 1997 the Grace B was completely restored by a company, Mahogany Bay, Mound, MN that specializes in restoring this type of vessel.

We were commissioned in 2011 to build this model for a family member who appreciates fine art and wished to capture this vessel in model form for his family’s history. The model was built to a scale of ¾” =1’-0” making the model 21.75” long. The real boat was restored to “live on” until 2035 as requested by the family. This model will help to preserve years of memorable use by all family members.

Rob and Reuben:

I am so pleased with the results of your work in recreating our 1955 Chris-Craft in scale. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail are exquisite. It has been a pleasure to work with you on this project. Our Grace B is now immortalized forever.

With heartfelt thanks,

~Bruce Dayton
